Drama As Tukur Faction Reps Protest Alleged Selective Treatment

Drama As Tukur Faction Reps Protest Alleged Selective Treatment

House of Representatives on Tuesday witnessed a rowdy session as some lawmakers protested against a scheduled visit by leader of the split faction of PDP, Alhaji Kawu Baraje.
Trouble started when the speaker, Hon Aminu Waziri Tambuwal announced to members of the PDP that the leadership of the New PDP would visit the caucus to address them on activities of the party.
This was followed by shouts of disagreement by supporters of Alhaji Bamanga Tukur while those loyal to the breakaway faction countered them.
Apparently, Tukur-led faction was protesting against the speaker's failure to read a similar correspondence from their leader.
The issue was, however, laid to rest when the speaker explained that the letter had been withdrawn before the sitting commenced, thereby making it unnecessary to announce it on the floor.
