Kwankwaso, Others Mourn The Late Agagu

Kwankwaso, Others Mourn The Late Agagu

Kano State Governor Rabi’u Kwankwaso  has stated that he received the news of the death of former Ondo State Governor Segun  Agagu with great shock on less than 12 hours after he spoke with him.
Kwankwaso stated this in a statement signed by his Director of Press and Public Relations, Mr Haliyu Dantiye, and made available to LEADERSHIP last night.
According to Kwankwaso, “the death of the former governor was a great loss especially at this time when people of his calibre and experience are needed to help finding solutions to the challenges facing our country”.
The governor added that the late Agagu was a very reliable friend and dependable ally who served Nigeria meritoriously.
Expressing his condolence to the family of the deceased , Kwankwaso  also prayed for the repose of his soul and  urged God to give the family the strength to bear the irreparable loss.
Meanwhile, family members of the late Agagu have moved his corpse to Ibadan.
Sources within the Ikoyi home of the late politician told LEADERSHIP that the decision, though the first step towards the commencement of his burial rites was to allow his political and academic associates to honour him.
Agagu died last Friday in his Lagos home.
When our correspondent visited the sprawling Ikoyi residence, it was a shadow of its old self as it was devoid of the beehive of activities as it was deserted and the gates were firmly locked prompting an enquiry by our correspondent.
Efforts to get his eldest son, Feyi, proved abortive as his phone rang repeatedly without him picking up. He also refused to answer the text messages sent to him by our correspondent who sought clarifications on the issue.
Also, two former governors of Kwara and Ogun states, Dr. Abubakar Olusola Saraki and Otunba Gbenga Daniel have condoled with the family of the late Agagu.
