The Nikkai ceremony between the Inspector General of Police Mohammed Abubakar and his bride, Zarah took place on Friday September 13th in Abuja and another ceremony held on Saturday.
Many dignitaries were in attendance at the wedding: Two former Head of State, Gen. Abdulsalam Abubakar, Minister of the FCT, Bala Mohammed and members of the National Assembly.
The reception which held at the ThisDay Dome was attended by Govs. Ibrahim Dankwambo of Gombe State, Idris Wada of Kogi State, Acting Governor of Taraba, Alhaji Garba Umar, Senators Andy Uba and Paulinus Igwe.
Other dignitaries included former Chief Security Officer to late Gen. Sani Abacha, Maj. Hamza Al-Mustapha, Femi Otedola and Mr. Akin Oshuntokun, a the former MD of the News Agency of Nigeria.

The First Lady of Nigeria, Dame Patience Jonathan and Mrs. Jonathan's business partner, Hajiya Bola Shagaya with the Chief Justice of the Federation, Justice Aloma Mukhtar (r); wife of Benue State Governor, Mrs. Yemisi Suswam during the wedding dinner in honor of the IG at the International Conference Centre, Abuja on Friday.
Mohammed got married about a year after Abubakar lost his wife, Maryam.
She died in January, 2012 shortly after Abubakar was appointed as acting IG.
