Jonathan Okays Governing Boards Of 42 Parastatals
President Goodluck Jonathan has approved the appointments of the Chairmen and members of the Governing Boards of 42 Federal Government Parastatals and Agencies.
A press statement signed by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator Anyim Pius Anyim, indicated that membership of each Governing Board would include all the statutory ex-officio members in accordance with the enabling laws of the parastatals and agencies.
Some of them include Nigerian Institute of Transport Technology, with Prince Olusola Akanmode as Chairman, National Mathematical Centre with Sen. Abubakar H. Girei as Chairman, Universal Basic Education Commission with HH. A. J. Turner as Chairman, National Commission for Colleges of Education with Chief Chukwuemeka Ezeife as Chairman, National Institute for Education Planning and Administration, Elder Bolaji Anani is Chairman, National Institute for Fresh Water Fisheries Research, with Alhaji Arma Yau Abubakar as Chairman, Forestry Research Institute of Nigeria, Alhaji Suleiman Galadima is Chairman, Nigerian Institute of Oceanography and Marine Research has Alhaji Bello Gusau as Chairman.
Others are National Inland Waterways Authority with Alhaji Bashir Dalhatu as Chairman, National Cereals Research Institute with Igwe Ginger Ibeneme as Chairman; National Eye Centre has Prof C.I.P. Anibeze as Chairman, National Root Crops Research Institute has Chief Oluwole Oludaisi Aina as Chairman.
According to the statement, the dates for the formal inauguration of the Governing Boards will be announced in due course by the supervising authorities and Ministers.
